He believes his countrymen should be given the choice of whether to stay in the European Union and that Muslim immigrants might bring terrorism to the nation. Though the post is largely ceremonial some believe he could have a very strong influence over the new cabinet that will be formed.

Yesterday Finland’s Sauli Niinsto was re-elected as President of his country for a second consecutive term. Voter turnout was 66.7 per cent of which he picked up 62.7 per cent of the votes. ‘’Finland is a great country – it’s the most stable in the world. Better to be small and stable than large and fractured’’ he said.
